Delhi to organize International Mango Festival on 2nd July

The irresistible tropical fruit, mango, remains the master of all for people. Its various varieties sold by various names across different parts of India gives a chance to enjoy its goodness of taste and health. Throughout the year, people await the arrival of mango season so that they can beat a summer heat on a juicy delectable note. In light of mangoes popularity, Delhi organizes the International Mango Festival, where mango lovers a chance to taste its 1001 plus varieties under one roof.

The two-day festival will be held in Delhi Haat, Pitampura from 2nd July, 2015. Delhi Tourism in alliance with Government of Delhi organizes the festival on a grand note and showcase various specialities of mangoes from different Indian states. Events and activities surrounding the fruit, namely,

  • mango eating competitions,
  • quizzes,
  • mango slogan writing,
  • mango carving,
  • mango folk performances and mango tasting

are organized to encourage and entertain visitors. Varieties namely Langda, Dasheri, Alphonso, Fasli, Bombay Green, Chausa, Sindheri along with processed items like mango juice, jelly, pickels, aam papad and aam panna will also be available for purchase. This two- day mango extravaganza brings together mango growers, sellers, consumers and mango lovers to immerse in a journey of fun and frolic.

    The International Mango Festival in Delhi features an array of recreational events and activities associated with mango, like mango eating competitions, quizzes, mango slogan writing, mango carving, children’s shows, mango folk performances, mango tasting, and plenty of mangoes to go around with varieties of the fruit on display.
